Metals are one of the most widely recycled materials on the planet. Values and markets are mature and well established and the material itself is easily identifiable. Commingled loads containing metal and wood have been the backbone of our operation here at Greenway. LEED loads can also be commingled when you have site or project restrictions.
Our sorting line processes for the following materials; Wood, metals (ferrous and non-ferrous) and cardboard. Nobody ever drops a complete box of metal with us, however, many of the commingled boxes contain enough recoverable material for us glean this from the mix. After wood and ADC, metal accounts for more weight than any other material that we process. We separate our metals into #2 mixed, aluminum, copper and brass. We currently sell to several different vendors, depending on current market conditions.
